In ‘Nature vs. Nature’ similarities are explored in how we connect with each other and how we connect with nature. This series is inspired by a ‘post-Corona party boom’ where social distancing made place for dancing, festivities, and events in open air.
Visually, a packed crowd is framed within a nearly abstract landscape that seems to disappear into itself and fragment off into separate pieces. Like a memory that has difficulty keeping its shape. The large vastness and timelessness of nature gets mirrored by a small moment of a fleeting yet primal human need of togetherness. A connection through beats, dance and shared experience. Yet how ’timeless’ is this really in our modern lifestyle and the ultimate effects of climate change.
Our need for connection to each other and to nature itself becomes the dance and we are questioned if these priorities are in harmony within ourselves.
